Valencia Con Mis Padres

Fui a Valencia con mis padres por el fin de semana! After my parents had been in Sevilla for only a day and a half, I whisked them off to Valencia with Matt and his parents. Here are a few of the things we did:

  • We were super touristy and took a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus to see all of Valencia because its suppaaaa big.

Someone's excited.

  • First stop: THE BEACH! It was a weeee bit chilly, but it was still beautiful and great to be near the ocean :)

Palm trees are my favorite!

Me and daddy on the beach!

  • We ate at a restaurant on the beach. My parents got their first taste of paella aka DELICIOUSNESS.

  • Later, we introduced our parents to the most wonderful Spanish delicacy that exists: churros. I'm pretty sure this wonderful food and our quest to find the perfect ones are why I have gained 34983749572 pounds while I've been here.

Is your mouth watering yet?
  • We hit up one of the largest markets in Europe - el Mercado Central. I introduced my parents to the concept of extremely cheap wonderfully delicious bread. Here a whole loaf was 40 cent. WHAT. So we bought one of those, filled it with ham and cheese, then there ya go! Lunch for three.

  • Later we ventured to La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias where they have a bunch of really cool architectural buildings and museums.

Yo y mi madre :)

  • My mother told me how much she loves streetlamps. So I have started to take pictures of streetlamps wherever I go. Maybe I'll devote an entire post to them.

  • We went the weekend before Valencia's big festival: Las Fallas. But, we were super lucky and they already had some festivities going on! It's so like Spaniards to start partying before the actual party. HOW TYPICAL.

  • Lastly, my mother insisted that we see the ceramic museum. So we went, and turned out, it really wasn't of just ceramics. It was actually some really rich guy's house from a while ago and it was beautiful. My mother was only slightly obsessed.
It kind of looks like the Sound of Music or something, doesn't it?

All in all, Valencia was super fun to visit with the parents. I'm glad I got to travel with them and show them another part of Spain. And also show them how Sevilla is still so much better :)

Parents Week(end): Spanish Style

MY PARENTS CAME TO VISIT! And it was awesome. We did so many things and I was so happy to show them my second home.

I showed them literally every part of Sevilla that I could during their short time. Here's a quick rundown of our time in Sevilla!

  • Dinner with Courtney, Mama Rosa, and Juan at La Gamba Blanca. DELICIOSO!

  • Plaza de Espana! Look at my cute parents.

  • We  biked around all of Sevilla. Seriously the best way to see the city in such a short amount of time.

  • Walked around Triana, my home. Drank at the wonderful yellow bar and saw this beautiful view! Then went to din din and La Carbonaria for Flamenco!

  • Then we went to Valencia for the weekend, which I'll go into more detail in a later post.
  • Once we got back to Sevilla, I showed the parents the Mushrooms.

Not the greatest picture of me, but good of my photogenic parents with a pretty background!

  • Of course, we shopped, shopped, and shopped some more.
  • We ate at La Carbonaria. EVERYONE GO THERE. So. Good.
  • HAD to show them Alcazar, the royal gardens. SO SO PRETTY!

Aren't they the cutest?

  • We ate at the oldest Tapas Bar in Sevilla - El Rinconcio.

  • While I was in class, they hit up the Cathedral and La Giralda. Both important things to see in Sevilla.

I was SOOO glad my parents could come visit me in Sevilla. I could honestly tell them how much I love Sevilla and try to explain it to them, but they would have never understood, nor would anyone, unless they visited. To show them my second home was absolutely wonderful. I hope they loved it as much as I did! I also know how much money, time, and planning it took to visit me, so thank you to the two best parents ever for coming! I am beyond blessed to have you as my parents.

Selfies with Daddy. Its normal.

BEST WEEKEND EVER!
